Ray McGovern, 27-year veteran of the CIA and founder of Veteran Intelligence Professionals for Sanity (VIPS) went from giving George H.W. Bush daily briefings to protesting in Congress with 15 others dressed in the orange jumpsuits of Guantanamo prisoners on March 3, 2006, when he also returned his Intelligence Commendation Award. His articles are published frequently by TruthOut and he was one of 44 witnesses before the International Commission of Inquiry on Crimes against Humanity Committed by the Bush Administration (www.bushcommission.org).
McGovern will speak at 7 PM, Thursday, April 13, Holt Memorial Chapel, Lake Forest College. The evening will be moderated by Jed Stone, past president of the Illinois Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers and anti-death penalty activist.
