Tonight: A critical look at the anti-war movement
Meeting tonight at 6:30 p.m.: A critical look at the anti-war movement: what way forward?
The small anti-war movement that emerged after the events of September 11 was divided on its attitude toward what took place that day. This ambivalence resulted in difficulty in attracting support for a movement against the war against Afghanistan. What lessons can be drawn from this experience that will help us to solidarize with the people of Afghanistan as well as prepare us for the new stages of U.S. militarism ahead? Several activists will discuss their experiences.
Sonia Bergonzi, feminist activist and writer for News & Letters, Jerry Mead, member of the Pilsen Greens, and activist Nate Holdren.
