DeKalb's own National Day of Peace

DeKalb area peace community invited to show public presence of alternative viewpoints to the war and other government policies and actions
National Day of Peace

Peaceful Public Demonstration

DeKalb Area Peace Community
Dec. 7th, 5-6pm
First Street and Lincoln Highway
at the City Clock Park

"Every gun that is made, every warship launched, every rocket fired, signals in a final sense, a theft from those who hunger and are not fed, those who are cold and not clothed."
Dwight D. Eisenhower

IN RESPONSE to the National Day of Peace, members of
the DeKalb area peace community are coming out in a visible
presence in order to excercise democratic rights of dissent to
the present policies and actions of our government related to
the war on terrorism and to speak for a more peaceable way of
non-violent conflict resolution.

Peace Response Six Points of Unity

1. We mourn the victims and condemn the attacks of September 11th

2. We stand in defense of civil liberties

3. We oppose anti-Arab, anti-Muslim, anti-immigrant, and all
forms of racial, ethnic and religious violence and bigotry

4. We oppose military intervention and war

5. We seek global peace through social and economic justice

6. We uphold justice, not vengeance; bring the perpetrators to
justice through the established principles of International Law
