The New Orleans Style Vegan Feast held Saturday October 15th in Rodges Park successfully raised $600 for the Nowe Miasto Housing Collective in New Orleans. Party-goers enjoyed authentic cajun Vegan goodness cooked by the Asian Cajun. Everyone was too stuffed to dance afterwards, in spite of the Big Easy R and B jams and brass band music on the stereo.
One Nowe Miasto Collective member said, "It's great to hear that people up north are supporting our efforts. We need to keep collectives alive in New Orleans." Her particular collective needs some life support, the building suffered serious damages due to flooding and hurricane Katrina. The funds raised will support work crews currently being organized to travel to New Orleans this year.
