Gunfight at the "E-Pluribus-Unum Corral"!

On October 1, 2005, Florida becomes a more dangerous place. That's when the Shoot First Law goes into effect, giving the people of Florida the right to use deadly force as a first resort when they feel threatened, even in a public place. But the Shoot First doctrine isn't just staying in Florida — it's about to become a national disgrace.

In a country where thousands die needlessly every year in gun accidents and violent confrontations, this law is an enormous step backwards in civic responsibility and public safety. What's more, it envisions a society in which fear and distrust are the rule, and reason and responsibility are an endangered species.

If you live in Florida, or plan on visiting Florida, get the facts on the Shoot First Law. Know when you're safe, and how to avoid misunderstandings. Learn about when the people of Florida can shoot to kill... and when they think they can. (*from Jim Brady Control Gun Violence website!)

***Now to sum up:The new Forida bill says its "giving the people of Florida the right to use deadly force as a first resort when they feel threatened.....so heres one of a number of possible resultant scenarios: Defendant says to court judge: "Well yes your Honour I did gun down a dozen or so Florida politicians and NRA officials but the way I figured it see as a Florida resident,, is these folks had the effect,by drawing up and passing this new "Shoot First Law", of threatening and jeopradizing my safety and security.I mean I or members of my family could be gunned down in public over a fender bender,a silly argument or just by looking at someone the wrong way.In conclusion your Honour I've been faithful to letter of the new "Shoot First Law" and I will continue to be ever vigiliant, with my guns,in protecting myself and my family from any new threats we might encounter!"
