Report Back from Animal Rights Events Last Week

Demos were held on June 30th and July 1st in front of the Wachovia Securities offices at 30 S. Wacker and 77 W. Wacker.
For the demo on June 30th:

Today activists in Chicago let Wachovia Securities know that as long as
Robert Ingram (VP of GlaxoSmithKline) sits on their board of directors,
they are going to have to answer to animal rights activists. Activists
stood outside the Wachovia offices at 30 S. Wacker chanting, handing out
literature and letting people know that Wachovia was responsible for the
murder of 500 animals every single day. The activists also let Wachovia
know about the liabilities that come with having ties to HLS. Namely an
international campaign of activists working together to end animal abuse.

But the day wasn't over for Wachovia yet, at 4 the activists returned for
round 2. People didn't seem to be happy to have the activists back, as one
of Wachovia's neighbors took it upon himself to come out of his office
with a baseball bat! Refusing to be intimidated the activists stood their
ground and despite numerous threats from the man with the bat, the police
(in classic form) chose to do nothing about it, even when he went so far
as to push one of the activists.

But the intimidation tactics didn't end there. Half way through the demo
the police officers tried to end the protest early by telling activists
that their permit had expired. We reminded the police that a permit wasn't
needed as we had the first amendment on our side and we had never even
applied for one. They responded by threatening arrest. But the activists
again stood their ground and called the cops' bluff. The police backed
down, angry, but unable to stop our protest.

All of this proves that we here in Chicago are starting to get to Wachovia
and only fuels our desire to come back stronger and more often. HLS is a
sinking ship Wachovia, get out now before you go down with them. Kick
Robert Ingram off your board of directors, sell your shares in
GlaxoSmithKline or face more protests as you go up against the
international animal rights movement.

For the demo on July 1st:

For the second day in a row, Chicago activists took to the street to let
Wachovia Securities know that as long as Robert Ingram (VP of
GlaxoSmithKline, one of HLS' largest customers) sits on their board of
directors & as long as Wachovia holds shares in GlaxoSmithKline, they are
going to have to answer to animal rights activists all over the world. On
the heels of a recent ALF action against Wachovia in New York, we made
sure that the Wachovia employees here in Chicago were well aware of what
their colleagues in New York were going through & reminded them of past
ALF actions against HLS supporters here in Chicago. Over 2 hours, hundreds
of leaflets were handed out and a clear message was sent to Wachovia that
we weren't going anywhere until their relationship to HLS was severed.
Once again Wachovia was attempting to intimidate activists, this time
sending a man claiming to be an "amateur photographer" to take close up
photos of every activist at the protest. But we aren't intimidated
Wachovia, this just proves that we are getting to you. The more you throw
at us, the more motivated we become. The only way we are going away is
when you sever your relationship to HLS. Get it through your head
Wachovia, you cannot stand up to this campaign. Save yourself alot of time
& trouble, kick Robert Ingram off your board & sell your shares in
GlaxoSmithKline now! If you don't, you will have to learn the hard way
that WE ALWAYS WIN!!!
