State Anti-Terrorism Bill: 20 to Life for Protest that Endangers Property

The Act creates the offense of terrorism, defined as any act that endangers human life or property and is intended to intimidate or coerce a civilian population, influence government policy or affect government conduct. The crime of terrorism is a Class X felony, carrying a sentence of 20 years to natural life imprisonment, with the entire sentence to be served under Illinois’ truth-in-sentencing laws.
