Rep. John Conyers (D-MI)- Chair of the Congressional Universal Health Care Task Force, chief sponsor of universal health care legislation and long time advocate for civil right and social justice.

Will Durst- Nationally syndicated columnist for publications such as The Progressive, Mother Jones and Working for Change, co-producer and host of Livelyhood, a PBS documentary on the changing face of labor.

Annual awards ceremony
Presentation of legislator, volunteer, investigative health care reporting, and provider of the year awards along with the golden bedpan award.


Panel discussion

Strategic Stepping Stones to Universal Health Care
National and state leaders discuss current health care reform battles and how they build strategies for universal health care into their movement. There will be ample time for questions, answers and audience discussion.

Creation of an action plan

Health Care Security Action Plan
Where are we going in 2002? We'll talk about how you can team up with CBHC and our members in our fight for universal health care and to make sure candidates hear our voices in the 2002 election. Sign up during the discussion to help with our events in 2002.

The Campaign for Better Health Care is a grassroots coalition of hundreds of local and statewide organizations representing consumers, health care workers, providers, community organizers, seniors, communities of faith, disability rights organizations, children's advocates and other citizens concerned about access to quality health care.
