In celebration of the one year anniversary of the 16oct00 'Million Family March' which took place on the National Mall in WDC I dedicate this PHOTO ESSAY entitled "Lean on Me" of images that were taken during the 'Sunrise Ceremony' in proximity of the US Capitol which began at 6am on Monday, 16oct. These photos, however, were taken later in the mourning and more specifically at the Reflecting Pool near the US Capitol as my hope was to capture black families in a positive light and/or to document them praying together and embracing but holding onto each other.
