FROM BAGHDAD TO BOGOTA: NO BLOOD FOR OIL!

As in Iraq, the war in Colombia is a war for oil and empire. Under “Plan Colombia,” over 3.5 billion U.S. taxdollars have gone to pay for war; and the murder of trade unionists, peasants and human rights workers.

The Colombia Action Network will sponsor a protest at the Colombian Consulate (500 N. Michigan) at 11:00 AM with bannering and leafletting and a brief rally with Colombian trade unionists around 11:30 AM. Then we will join the Palestine Solidarity and Youth and Militarism feeder marches to proceed north to the Oak Street assembly site to add our voices to the nationwide actions to say NO TO WAR AND OCCUPATION—BRING THE TROOPS HOME NOW!

This event is intended to be a "green" (nonarrestable) action by using the sidewalks from the consulate to Oak Street.
