Hey - I am sending this out to all indy/activists/media/heads of Chicago. I am helping organize an event at the Congress Theater after the marches and rallies on March 19th. Right now we have the space for no cover charge, from 6 pm on, and can book bands, speakers, groups with info booths in the lobby, anything.

We have booked for sure the Chicago premiere of The Dreams of Sparrows, a doc by a team of Iraqi Filmmakers made this past year and a half. The director, Hayder Daffar, has obtained a visa to attend a screening/speaking tour in the US and will be there March 19th to speak after his movie about the war/occupation, etc.

We are going to talk with the anarchy film fest people, undershorts, chicago underground and chicago international film fest people as well to get some shorts/docs that are relevant.

After the movie bloc we wanted to have a number of different speakers take the mic for a while, and then have a number of politically active bands play. Right now we are making lists and contacting people who are interested, and are open to pretty much anything...

Let me know what you guys think - we are open to collaboration, need help getting the word out, etc...
