Sewalanka is an excellent organization to contribute to whether for disaster relief or otherwise but their reliefs efforts can be expected to be as effective as resources will allow. Unfortunately, Sewalanka operates only in Sri Lanka. There are doubtlessly other great organizations to help with (The Red Cross/Red Crescent is always good) in the other nations affected and help may be accutely needed in Aceh where the Indonesian government has been violently throttling attempts at self-determination and autonomy in recent years. It remains to be seen whether Indonesia will hold obedience as bait for humanitarian relief. Below is the text and a PDF version is attached.

Appeal Launched
Help the communities destroyed by the tsunamis
Sewalanka Foundation is launching an appeal for the people affected
by the tsunami in Sri Lanka. The multiple tsunamis that hit the Sri
Lankan coast line on 26 December 2004 have destroyed hundreds
of villages, killed over 4,500 people and displaced over one million people. This is
the worst natural disaster that the people of Sri Lanka have ever faced.
Sewalanka Foundation has offices in all the coastal districts affected by the
tsunami and is receiving urgent requests from survivors. Those that have survived
are now in urgent need of basic supplies like cooked food, drinking water, dry
rations and cooking utensils. In order to purchase these facilitate we have
established a separate bank account where money can be directly donated by
