Friday, September 28th at noon, students and community members held a "Solidarity Sit-In for Peace" in the MLK commons at Northern Ilinois University in DeKalb, IL. In solidarity with those rallying in DC this weekend, we denounced Bush's "War On Terrorism" and called for peace. Around 40 people showed up to this rally (a good turnout for here). Later that evening a vigil was held to support peace. The rally & Vigil was organized by the Northern Coalition for Peace & Justice, DeKalb Interfaith Network and the Dove Coalition.
