The GOP's 11th Commandment

President Ronald Reagan created a "commandment" just for republicans. It stated that no republican shall speak ill of any other republican. But what about republicans who stray from morality, the truth, or the law?
The GOP's 11th Commandment by Larry Rolirad
Leaders of the republican party apparently hate the truth. Whenever they are presented with the truth they viciously attack the messenger, like they did with Paul O'Neill, Richard Clarke, and James Hatfield. All three of these authors wrote books condemning President Bush, or people in the Bush Regime. O'Neill and Clarke are still alive, but James T. Hatfield, who wrote a tell-all book about GW Bush's past, was found dead soon after his book was published. Instead of addressing the issues in an intelligent manner, republicans usually resort in their typical knee-jerk fashion by attacking the messenger, or their favorite, Clinton, Clinton, and more Clinton. Republicans run from any facts that hurt their party. They are apparently blind to reality. And they are blind to the truth. When they hear the truth they act like cockroaches who scurry all over the floor when the kitchen lights are turned on in the middle of the night. These cockroach-republicans desperately scurry in every direction trying to find a dark place to hide. Republicans stopped making their own party members accountable for their immoral, corrupt, or even treasonous actions under President Reagan's administration. If you remember, it was President Reagan who announced his "Eleventh Commandment" for republicans, which stated "Thou shalt not speak ill of any fellow republicans". President Reagan created that commandment to stop any dissension within the republican ranks. But in reality his commandment was really an attempt to stop republicans from holding their fellow party members accountable for their actions even if republicans were caught being dishonest, untruthful, unethical, or immoral. Some commandment eh? But republicans still consistently rely on Ronald Reagan's commandment every time a republican gets caught committing an immoral act, committing a crime, or even committing treason. Perhaps if republicans would adhere to the Bible's first Ten Commandments they wouldn't need an "Eleventh Commandment". Copyright 2004, Larry S.
