Protest Presidential Debate in St. Louis

Join us in St. Louis to speak out against the Presidential Debates on October 8th. A full day of events include a teach-in, parade, and rally!
ST. LOUIS, October 2004 – On October 8 the Democratic and Republican presidential candidates will participate in a debate in St. Louis. The St. Louis October 8 Coalition is planning a host of events to bring attention to issues that are not being addressed by either presidential campaign.

Organizers say the presidential candidates both represent the interests of big-money donors and large corporations instead of the interests of the majority of Americans. Issues left out of the debates that will be addressed in the protest events include the increasing poverty and joblessness in the country, the ever-expanding prison system, the illegal war in Iraq and other U.S. military intervetions, and the crimes committed by U.S. corporations in Latin America and across the globe.
