HONK FOR MUMIA ABU JAMAL: PHILLY SOLIDARITY ACTION ON SAT., SEPT.15TH

STOP THE EXECUTION! OVERTURN THE CONVICTION! FREE MUMIA!

WHEN: 12:00 NOON - MILWAUKEE, DIVISION, ASHLAND TRIANGLE
We need to send a message loud and clear that there is no way we will let them take this beautiful brother from us!
We are calling for a "Honk for Mumia"/Rally in solidarity with the Philly Emergency Action, for those of us unable to get to Philadelphia but who want to build the kind of movement that can save Mumia's life and set him free. We need to send a message loud and clear that there is no way we will let them take this beautiful brother from us!

We say "stop the execution" because we must constantly
remind people that Mumia remains on death row under
sentence of death. We demand that his wrongful
conviction be overturned to expose how Mumia was
framed up by corrupt police and prosecuters in
Philadelphia. And we call for Mumia to be freed,
because his conviction was fraudulent and this vicious
government has no right to take the life of anyone,
let alone a man who represents the aspirations of
people for a better world.

BRING SIGNS, BANNERS, NOISEMAKERS, AND FRIENDS!!!
Getting serious about winning means getting serious about building the kind of movement that can save Mumia's life and set him free! It's only a few short days from now, but these are extraordinary times...forget about 'business as usual' and come to M/D/A to hook up with others who want to build this movement!

The International Concerned Family & Friends has put out a call for an emergency action in Philly. Here it is:
Here's the ICFFMAJ Call:

Emergency Action For Mumia
Saturday, September 15th
Mass Demo at Philadelphia City Hall at 1:00 pm

Let Judge Dembe know that justice must be done! ONA MOVE!
On August 17th, while about 2,000 demonstrators
rallied outside, State Court Judge Pamela Dembe heard
Mumia's lawyers argue why there should be another Post
Conviction Relief Appeal. Dembe strongly leaned
towards the prosecution's arguement that certain time
limits for presenting evidence have expired and
therefor the court doesn't have to reopen the PCRA
process. Dembe's approach to the hearing was earily
like Judge Yohn's denial of a deposition from Arnold
Beverly as she hinted that Mumia's innocence or guilt
doesn't matter in her courtroom. Mumia's lawyers have
until Sepember 7th to file on why evidence of
innocence should be heard in court and then the
prosecution has until the 21st to file a rebutal. Our
demands for Judge Dembe are:

1) That the Arnold Beverly confession be heard by the
State Courts
2) That an evidentiary hearing be held in the State
Courts to consider all of the evidence pointing to
Mumia's innocence
3) That Mumia be present at this hearing and at all
legal proceedings in his case
4) That Mumia be released from prison because of
evidence of his innocence as well as police,
prosecutorial, and judicial misconduct in his original
"trial"
