Hackers rise up to protest the RNC

The Republican National Convention will be held in New York City in early September in an attempt to capitalize off of the fears and emotions surrounding the 9/11 attacks. War criminal George W. Bush will be formally nominated as the presidential candidate of the Republican Party. Hundreds of thousands of people will descend upon the city to voice their opposition to the Bush agenda. These protests will utilize a variety of new creative tactics of direct action to help shut down the convention. In addition to the battle on the streets, hackers will wage a battle on the internet.

Several organizations and individuals have pledged to commit acts of electronic civil disobedience against a variety of right-wing, corporate media, and government websites. While we will not be participating in such activities ourselves, we will be reporting on the latest updates of these attacks by mirroring press releases, interviewing various hackers, and informing the media about the campaign.

Most of the events are planned a week before the RNC begins. More updates will be available as the date approaches. The events over the next few months will be history, you don't want to miss it.

CALL OUT FOR AUTONOMOUS ACTIONS AGAINST THE RNC

We recognize that in order for this hacktivist campaign to be successful we need to utilize a wide diversity of tactics. We are asking for skillful groups and individuals to participate by utilizing any means necessary. The targets are very broad - all right-ring, corporate, news service, government or military sites are fair game. But don't let us limit your actions. Cause disruption in any way you can - flooding their communication systems, defacing their websites, disrupting their financial systems, etc. Anything politically motivated that has the potential to achieve mass media attention. Get in touch with us so we can help build for a large coordinated internet campaign and so we can communicate with the media about your actions.
