Excluded from the nationally televised debates, Ralph Nader’s Green Party
presidential campaign tour has been selling out stadiums across the country,
expanding its grassroots support base despite being shunned by national
media and the political establishment.

Nader and an array of supporters addressed a capacity crowd at the
10,000-seat UIC Pavilion Oct. 10. The rally will be cablecast Wednesday,
Nov. 1 at 1:30 p.m. on cable channel CAN TV21 in Chicago.

Nader and his running mate Winona LaDuke are campaigning on a platform of
social and economic justice, universal health care and environmental
protection. “Corporate influence is hijacking our democracy,” Nader says.
“Corporations were created to be our servants, but they have become our
masters. That has to be changed, and it can be with a new Green Party
political movement.”

Along with Nader, the rally features:

Filmmaker Michael Moore (“Roger & Me,” “The Awful Truth”)
Pearl Jam vocalist Eddie Vedder
1980 independent presidential candidate John Anderson
Chicago author Studs Terkel
Talk show host Phil Donahue
Universal health care advocate Quinten Young
Former Dead Kennedies vocalist Jello Biafra
Emma Lozano of the National Coalition for Dignity and Amnesty
Dr. José Lopez of the Puerto Rican Cultural Center.
