· Learn how to help workers in filing complaints with government agencies.
· Become a Worker Rights Advocate in your congregation or community-based organization.

In two days, you will learn about basic worker rights and how to assist workers in filing complaints with government agencies as well as the basics of direct action and union organizing.

Day 1: Workers’ Compensation, Union Organizing, Direct Action Organizing and Day Labor Project

Day 2: FMLA Regulations, Overtime, Wage and Hour Matters, Health and Safety, Discrimination, and Day Labor Service Act

When: Thursday, September 6th and Friday, September 7th 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Where: Teamsters Local 705 Auditorium
1636 W. Van Buren
north of Polk/Medical Center stop on CTA Blue Line Train, 54/Cermak branch, behind 1645 W. Jackson, which is Teamsters Local 705

Cost: $25.00

Training sessions will be conducted in English by the Illinois Department of Labor, US Department of Labor, Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), The Equal Employment Opportunities Commission (EEOC), and other organizations.
