PROTEST:
Equal Marriage NOW!
Equal Marriage HERE!

Monday May 17, 12:00 PM
City Hall, 118 N. Clark St.

May 17 is wedding day in Massachusetts for same-gender couples and anyone else who chooses to marry, and activists across the country are planning protests and rallies to demand that their states end marriage segregation, too. Here in Chicago, Equal Marriage NOW! is planning a protest at the Cook County Clerk David Orr's office to both celebrate Massachusetts' victory and to demand that we be given the same rights as heterosexual couples here.

May 17 is also the 50th anniversary of the landmark Supreme Court decision in Brown v. the Board of Education which struck down segregation in the schools and other public accommodations. Separate was not equal then and it still isn't. On May 17, we invite everyone who opposes segregation in all of its forms to come out and join us in celebration of the Massachusetts' victory and in protest against the continued adherence to bigoted laws by officials here in Illinois and across the country. Justice delayed is justice denied! Spread the word, and bring a friend.

For more information, see our Web site at www.equalmarriagenow.org or call 773-243-2576.

Also....call Cook County clerk David Orr's office at 312-603-0999 to demand equal marriage now!
