This is information about the Rustbelt FOOD NOT BOMBS gathering in Cleveland Ohio April 29-May 1st. Below is the tentative schedule and tasks that people can sign up for. Attention all pirates, ninjas, and fellow Food-Not-Bomb-ers!! You are invited to join us April 29th in Cleveland Ohio where rivers tend to catch fire and schools and playgrounds are built over landfills. There's no better place to have a group of individuals come together for the first ever RUST BELT FOOD NOT BOMBS GATHERING!!

It will be a thrilling weekend full of skill sharing, soap making, tofu frying, dumpster diving and much much more!! And do you really want to miss the Critical Mass bike ride in downtown Theveland ending at a dance party in the industrial flats? You can bring your drum buckets and homemade noisemakers, your dumpstered goodies, and whatever else you think would make for a fun parade! The festivities will begin 6pm April 29th at the Guilford Lounge, 11112 Bellflower Road on the campus of Case Western Reserve University.

Housing, tents, floor space, and loaner bikes are available but resources are limited so
we encourage everyone to bring their own camping supplies, transportation, sleeping gear and whatever will make you feel at home in Clevo.

Below is the tentative schedule and tasks that people can sign up for.

THURSDAY APRIL 29th
Guilford House (Case Western Reserve University, 11112 Bellflower Road, Cleveland)

1:30pm Cooking for dinner will be at Rotten Veggies (food not bombs house) If you are interested in helping out and are from out of town or are from town but don't know how to get there please feel free to call or e-mail.
5:30pm team will leave with food to go to welcome center (Guildford)/a team will stay behind to clean up Rotten Veggies
6pm to midnight WELCOME CENTER PARTY (DINNER, movies and Games)
11pm Dumpster Diving Teams will disband (we will need native Clevelanders to team up with out-of-towners)
11pm-12am There is going to be a need for a cleaning team at the welcome center
12am to? Camp Fire in TREMONT (camping/floor/housing site)


FRIDAY APRIL 30th
Pilgrim Congregational Church (2529 West 14th St., Tremont) & Ohio City Bicycle Co-Op (1823 Columbus Rd., Cleveland)

8am to 11am VEGAN PANCAKE COOK OFF (and trash talking) KATE vs. THE FREE WORLD!! Come and bring your best pancake recipes and see if you can bet the best pancakes this side of the Midwest!
-11am while we eat pancakes we will introduce our cities and have a discussion on the future of FNB
(9am to 11 am) we will need a team in the kitchen cleaning and cooking lunch
11am to 1pm A panel discussion on affordable housing and homelessness and labor issues
Panel people are Brain Davis from North East Ohio Coalition for the Homeless www.neoch.org/, Mike Foley, Cleveland Tenants Organization www.cto.nhlink.net, A person from Day Laborer's Organizing Committee home.cwru.edu/~drk9/index.html.
(LUNCH will happen about this time also)
1:30pm-4pm Ongoing workshops and an ongoing Solar Cookout
Some the workshops are:
Soap making, Self-defense, Yucca Mountain. Basic Bike repair, Video Activism, Ecodesign Living machines, Women's health workshop, Direct Action
(clean-up of the Kitchen and church will happen here with help from others? Also a team will be needed to bring bikes from the bike co-op to the church for critical mass. We will need help with getting the bike co-op into order for the dance party later that night)
6pm-8pm Critical Mass (downtown Cleveland please bring a bike if you can, if not we have loaners)
8pm -2am DANCE PARTY IN THE FLATS!! With OCBC staple Vegetarian Chili for DINNER. Bands include (but aren't limited to)
The NEW WAVE
A shadow Puppet show inspired by the Beehive Design Collective comic book "Bikes Without Borders"
SOME performance Pottery ZION (if you want to slam come on out we need more slam poets for this)
The sheoques
Matt Valerino/Silent Matt
FROSTIVA
Verbal C
And Maybe a Jug band from the co-op
And there could be more!!
(Yeah we're going to need a cleaning crew! some other odd jobs include glass "police" and river patrol e-mail for the details)

9am-10am yummy "Continental" BREAKFAST will be served.
9am-11am Soymilk and Tofu making workshop.
(10am-11am cleaning up kitchen and preparing lunch)
10am-Noon - Know Your Rights Video Discussion. 11am-Noon Radical Cheerleading.
Noon-1pm Do It Yourself Herbal Health (we will also be cleaning up the church and moving out to Lincoln Park for lunch)
1pm-2: 30pm LUNCH in the Lincoln Park + Special Guest Day Laborer Speaking about Temp Agencies in Cleveland.
1pm "Free Store" open for "business" in the Park.
2:30pm-3pm Open for Guerilla Workshops (mmm... pickle sandwich)
3pm-6pm More great workshops, including Culture Jamming, Bike Repair/Overhaul, and Cleveland Men Against Sexism present "Gender Roles in the Kitchen"
6pm Wrap it all up with hugs and kisses and a giant game of Capture the Flags.
