WEDNESDAY NIGHT PLANNING MEETING FOR IMF/WORLD BANK PROTESTS
-Aug. 8th, 7pm, Wicker Park Field House
Mobilize for GLOBAL JUSTICE!

"We don't like to be called anti-global. We're just the opposite. We're pro-global:
globalization of human rights, of opportunity, of free movement for everyone."

ORGANIZING MEETING - All out to Protest the IMF/World Bank

The International Monetary Fund (IMF) and World Bank will be holding their Joint
Annual General Meetings in Washington, DC from September 28 to October 4, 2001.
Activists from all over the world will come to Washington during that week to protest
and expose the illegitimacy of the institutions and officials who continue to claim the
right to determine the course of the world economy for their own greedy aims.

These institutions "bail out" governments with debt and credit problems, but they only
provide money to governments that allow corporations free access to their countries'
resources and labor. They fire government employees and slash programs in health
and education. In the case of the biggest bail-outs (like South Korea), most of the
money goes to foreign investors to restore their "confidence."

Here in Chicago buses are already being planned to take people to these historic
protests against the World Bank and the IMF. Be part of helping fill those buses and
spreading the world about what these institutions are designed to do. We know
another kind of world is possible - help make it a reality.
