Student Liberation Collective General Assembly
Sunday January 18, 2003 11am-4pm
Helen Plum Library, 110 west Maple
Lombard IL (1 block south of the lombard metra stop)

In the past 3 years, the Bush administration unleashed a wave of attacks upon people the world over, as well as quashing free speech. Over the past year, the Student Liberation Collective has been organizing in schools across western chicagoland to provide a democratic student organization that will stand up for the dignity and against the oppression of all people's. The SLC is not only committed to helping uncover the lies fed to us from the corporate media through our free paper the Suburban Underground, but we are also committed to taking action.

The recent surge in organizing make it necessary for everyone who is interested in helping organize, support, or work with the Student Liberation Collective to meet. Therefore, we are calling for a Student Liberation Collective General Assembly to discuss the current situation of the SLC and how we are going to move forward from here.

Here is what is planned thus far:
-Overview of what the SLC is
-How to operate a consensus meeting
-Anti-oppression in the SLC and our society
-How to publish your own paper
-Networking

There will also be tabling by organizations that support the work of grassroots student organizations and some short videos. If you are interested in getting a table or have any questions about the general assembly, email StudentLiberation (at) ziplip.com. We urge all students who are interested in starting somethign in their schools or who already have an SLC in their school to come from anywhere on a map. If you can pass out flyers on your campus or at an event, email us and we will get you some.

Hope to see you there!

The SLC
