Panel discussion to follow screening with video producers and Chicago Reporter ’s Laura Washington
Formerly incarcerated women produced this video to speak out about their experiences of incarceration as women, and to publicly address the impact of women ’s incarceration on their children.Through personal stories, poetry, group discussions of the issues,on-the-street interviews and statistical information, this video challenges stereotypes about women in prison.

"What We Leave Behind"was produced by Visible Voices,a group of formerly imprisoned women organized to analyze policy and work toward personal and systemic change;and Women's International Information Project (WiiP),an organization of media activists dedicated to expanding women's capacities for broad-based social change by facilitating media education and access with grassroots women's groups.
