Meeting: Lukacs, organization and the power of negativity

July 9 meeting to discuss ongoing relevance of revolutionary and philosopher Georg Lukacs.
The recent publication of a previously unknown manuscript by the Hungarian Marxist Georg Lukacs (1885-1971) has reinvigorated discussion of the relevance of this philosopher and revolutionary. Peter Hudis, author of a critical essay on "Tailism and the Dialectic" published in the June 2001 issue of News & Letters (online at, will discuss Lukacs's interpretation of Marxism and its relevance for our reality.
