This morning at roughly 11am, protesters who had been occupying a space in front of the Justice Center in solidarity with those arrested at the Mt. Adams protest as well as those who were arrested during the April uprising were served a legal notice ordering them to vacate the premise. They were given 30 minutes to leave the property or face possible arrest. The papers stated that no legal permit had been obtained to occupy the space, but one could be acquired pending a fourteen-day application process. The protesters complied by vacating the space, but are maintaining a constant vigil through various legal means such as walking on the sidewalk around the center and remaining inside during regular business hours. They have vowed to maintain this presence 24 hours a day until legal permits are acquired. The space had been occupied sucessfully for 40 hours when the notice was served.

This action began at 7pm Saturday night to protest the brutal and unfair arrests of 12 activists earlier in the evening at an anti-police brutality rally in Mt.Adams. They vowed not to leave the front of the Justice Center until all activists involved were released.
