Call Springfield to Clean the Air in Illinois!

HELP CLEAN UP THE AIR IN ILLINOIS--CALL HOUSE LEADERSHIP AND ASK THEM TO SUPPORT AND CALL SB372 FOR A VOTE WITHOUT ANY AMENDMENTS!

from Citizens Action Illinois:

Chicago's metro area ranks third behind Houston and L.A. for dirty air--Illinois's air follows Texas and Florida. It seems the state's in the wrong competition--please consider calling Springfield today--they're in their final budget per-recess fit down there. Make it clean &
clean: CALL SB372 FOR A VOTE WITHOUT ANY AMENDMENTS! (otherwise we'll find more coal-lumps and nuke waste
in our stockings)

Clean Air E-Mail Action Alert

Hello Clean Air Activists--

Our clean air legislation to clean up dirty power plants is in peril! Thus, PLEASE CALL HOUSE SPEAKER MADIGAN AND
HOUSE LEADER DANIELS NOW!!!!! CLEAN UP AIR POLLUTION FROM
COAL-FIRED POWER PLANT

Recent research has linked 1,700 premature deaths and 33,000 asthma attacks in Illinois to air pollution from coal-fired power plants. That is more deaths than are caused by motor vehicle accidents or homicides.

SB372 would establish a regulatory process beginning with the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency and ending with the Illinois Pollution Control Board. The bill would set power plant emission standards for mercury, sulfur dioxide, and nitrogen oxide, and voluntary standards for carbon dioxide.

SB372 is a step in the right direction. It deserves to be voted on independently from any coal subsidy or other potential tax incentive legislation.

CALL HOUSE LEADERSHIP AND ASK THEM TO SUPPORT AND

CALL SB372 FOR A VOTE WITHOUT ANY AMENDMENTS!

Speaker Madigan (217)782-5350

House Leader Daniels (217)782-4014

Additional info:

Madigan might be "really hard" to get through to in Springfield--the phone has been busy since this morning. You can also try the main switchboard (217) 782-2000 or try getting through to Madigan's Chicago office below:

MADIGAN, MICHAEL J SPEAKER OF THE HOUSE

160 N LASALLE, STE N-600, 60601-3103

(312)814-4890
