Cincinnati June 2, A CRAC(K) Action

On June 2nd we call for a convergence into hyde park. Hyde park is a high traffic, high income, corporate retail business area. We wish to tear down the borders that exist and examine why they exist and HOW WE ALL PLAY A PART IN THEIR EXISTENCE!

JUNE 2nd

CINCINNATI OHIO

We are CRAC(k)!, Cincinnati Radical Action Collective. we are a network of

community organizers and activists committed to the joyous destruction of

any and all institutions of privilege. ................

There will be a national march for justice in cincinnati on june 2nd. While

we stand in support with those who put out the call for this march, as well

with those who started the rebellion on april 9th2001, we also find it

imperative to place active pressure on spaces and institutions of

privilege. All people must realize that this is not an isolated struggle and

the proverbial "them" does not exist.

With this in mind, we call for an all-out occupation of illegitimate

privileged spaces and look to reclaim space with all people for the purpose

of building true community and alleviating alienation.

we are asking for all civic-minded activists to join us in this action

targeting privilege and the reclamation of space, desire, and power from

suburbia and other privileged realms. we stand in solidarity with those in

struggle and will continue to infringe upon those privileged spaces with

dedication and humor.

We will provide food, housing, and our undying gratitude to all those who

come to Cincinnati on June 2nd to participate. We can be contacted at

cracj2 (at) hotmail.com.

With this action we hope to send a message of solidarity to the communities

in struggle as well as bring the reality of social upheaval to those who

have actively fled this. as the suburbs swell and the wealthy flee the inner

city we call for a massive movement into those spaces of privilege. Those

areas of privilege where access is denied based on culture class, and

wealth. Before, during, and after June 2nd CRAC(k)! will stand as an ally

to any and all communities under siege.

Since 1995, fourteen black men have been murdered by the Cincinnati Ohio

police, four of which have occurred since November 2000. One of those

four,Roger Ownesbury, was murdered when officers thought he "looked like

someone

they were looking for." Witnesses reported that the officers handcuffed

Roger, picked him up by his arms and slammed his head and neck into the

concrete. Reports say that chemical irritants were used, but that he died

of asphyxiation of unknown causes.

On Saturday, April 7th, 2001, another unarmed young black male was added to

that total. Around 2 a.m., nineteen

year old Timothy Thomas was murdered by Officer Steven Roach of the

Cincinnati police. Roach has since been indicted on two misdemeanor

charges; negligent homicide and obstruction official business. Justice was

not served.

Before and since the indictment there has been numerous calls for civil

disobedience in our city. Almost everyday there is a statement made and and

action taken in a public way to demand that real change occur. Organizing

is taken place of so many levels that cincinnati hasn't seen in a very long

time. There have been calls for action surrounding a number of city

sponsored events. It will not be business as usual in cincinnati any

longer.

CRAC(k) is and will be involved with local actions and struggles building up

and reaching far past June 2nd...keep posted for what's up in cincinnati

alienation. We ask these questions of ourselves and others who wish to
