Pacifica Treasurer Resigns After Campaign

Palmer was one of the key Pacifica directors who allegedly illegally changed the Foundation's by-laws to reduce democratic accountability to listeners.

The Pacifica Campaign, which wants the Pacifica company to
return its radio network to free speech-oriented programming
and non-commercialism, is claiming a partial victory after the
resignation of Pacifica Foundation board member Michael
Palmer. The group says Palmer was one of the key Pacifica
directors who allegedly illegally changed the Foundation's
by-laws to reduce democratic accountability to listeners;
Palmer is also accused of seeking to stamp out dissident
voices and free speech among staff. His resignation followed a
visit by a group of activists to the headquarters of CB Richard
Ellis Real Estate , where Michael Palmer is vice president.
The campaigners threatened the chain with national
demonstrations and a listener boycott of Pacifica stations.
