excellent new ANTIWAR website: FacesForPeace.org

New antiwar site bills itself as "The Online Rally"; people are posting their photos and comments to take part. Searchable.

Recently launched war protest site allows people to participate an an "online rally". The non-profit Faces For Peace Project encourages web surfers to post their name/nickname, comments, location, and a PHOTO. Those who visit the site can view the protesters and even search by location.

The concept for the site is novel. Other protest sites have been successful as either News sites, Mailing List sites, or Message Board sites--but Faces For Peace is none of these.

Says Jay M., one of the developers, "We value debate and discussion, but there are already numerous places on the web for those activities. Our focus is providing a forum for people to stand up and say 'This is what I believe in' and to have that archived."

So far the rally's turnout has been small, but the site has been operating for only two days.

"This site has the potential to be big," says another of the programmers. "People can make it into whatever they want--we built it to be scalable."
