CALL TO ACTION - TODAY!!!

RALLY/ACTION TODAY AT THE ISRAELI CONSULATE, 12 NOON, TO PROTEST THE MURDER OF COLLEGE STUDENT AND ISM VOLUNTEER, RACHEL CORRIE.
I, like many of you, am feeling great remorse and extreme outrage over the murder of college student and ISM volunteer, Rachel Corrie. She was plowed over and buried alive, literally, by what appears to be one of the bulldozers manufactured by the Caterpillar Corporation and funded by our U.S. Tax dollars.

If you haven't seen the photos or read the full story then check the following link. There may be some additional posts on the ChicagoIndyMedia newswire as well.

The murder, together with the recent illegal detention of the Palestinian Four, the increase in Palestinian home demolitions, the intensification of illegal settlement construction and the extension of mass curfews, is yet another attempt on the part of the U.S. and Israeli governments to dehumanize and demoralize the Palestinian people and silence dissent at home and abroad. This is the same type of "shock and awe" mentality that characterizes the Bush administration's plans for a war with Iraq. We MUST stand together in solidarity with our sisters and brothers throughout the world in opposing these horribly unjust and racist attacks, as well as the tragic murder of Rachel Corrie; may she rest in peace.

We are calling upon all concerned parties to assemble for a rally in front of the Israeli Consulate, located at 111 E. Wacker, TODAY at 12pm. There will be another rally/action on the following day (Tuesday) at 12pm.

Please send messages of solidarity, condolence and support to the International Solidarity Movement by visiting their website at www.palsolidarity.org/main.html.

Flood the Israeli Consulate in Chicago (312-297-4800) with phone calls condemning the murder of Rachel Corrie and violating the human rights of the Palestinian people. Call Senator Dick Durbin (312-353-4925) and Senator Peter Fitzgerald (312-886-3506) demanding that they vote against any further military or economic aid to Israel. Call your own U.S. Congressional representative with the same demand that they vote against any more U.S. tax-funded aid to Israel.
