28th at 6pm. This fast is in solidarity with Taco Bell
tomato pickers hunger striking on the steps of Taco

On Feb. 28th U of C students and other Chicagoans will
fast for 24 hours in solidarity with hunger strikers
in California. We will begin our fast at 6pm on Feb.
27th and end it with a fast breaking dinner at 6pm on
Friday Feb. 28th.

Join us throughout the day or for a fast breaking
dinner Friday night where we will screen the Taco Bell
Truth Tour Movie.

On February 24th farm workers from Immokalee, Florida
will begin a historic hunger strike on the steps of
Taco Bell Headquarters in Irvine, California.
These workers are a part of the Coalition of Immokalee
Workers (CIW) who has called a national boycott of
Taco Bell. These farm workers have been calling on the
fast food giant to take responsibility for sweatshop
conditions in the fields where its tomatoes are
picked.

The Anti-Sweatshop Coalition and endorsing student
organizations are fighting to kick Taco Bell off of
our campus. A student/administrator committee has been
established to investigate possible Taco Bell
replacements and students hope to be able to announce
a clear victory soon.
