Rush Hour "No War" Action by N4P

A dozen N4P activists held a Rush Hour "No War" action from 4:30pm to 6:00pm at Hollywood & Sheridan, to a great response from motorists. (article 2)
For the fourth week in a row, N4P held a rush-hour "No War" action at a busy intersection on Wednesday, February 19th from 4:30 to 6:00pm. A dozen activists held our large canvas signs at Hollywood & Sheridan, along with a smaller "Honk for Peace" sign.

A contingent from the newly formed "Andersonville Neighbors for Peace" joined Evanston Neighbors for Peace holding our large signs at this event, while some of us handed out informational flyers and "No War" buttons to the motorists as they sat in traffic.

The response from motorists was even more positive than our previous actions, with nearly half of drivers responding positively to our message! Whether they honked, gave us a thumbs-up or a 2 fingered peace sign, the support was excelent.

A CPD officer told us we could hold our signs on the sidewalk, but that if we were out in the street "panhandling" we'd be arrested. Obviously handing out free peace literature & buttons isn't exactly panhandling, but that argument fell on deaf ears. If newspaper salesman can weave through traffic, peace activists should be able to do the same. Several of us continued to hand out our materials despite the warning, without further incident.
