CFL ACTION ALERT: ISRAELIS EXERCISE FREEDOM TO REELECT MASS MURDERER SHARON; U.S./ISRAELI COALITION PREVENTS PALESTINIANS FROM GOING TO POLLS.

This week Israeli's exercised their "democratic" right to reelect Prime Minister Ariel Sharon, a wanted mass murderer currently being investigated in Belgium for committing war crimes against Palestinians and Lebanese civilians. Meanwhile, the United States and Israel have stated that there will never be a Palestinian State if Yassir Arafat
remains the democratically elected representative of the Palestinians. Agreeing to U.S./Israeli demands, the Palestinians called for elections, which were supposed to take place a few weeks ago. Unfortunately, the elections were not possible under the current Israeli military dictatorship. We call on our government to demand that
Israel pull out of the currently occupied areas so that a democratic election can take place.

TALKING POINTS

*Demand that the President explain why he has demanded that
Palestinians democratize and elect a new leader, yet, he does not demand that Israel stop impeding the progress to
such elections.

*Demand that the President apply his standards of democracy to all people. The Israelis were free to elect a world-renowned serial killer as their representative. Palestinians should be free to exercise their rights as human beings.

*Express your outrage over the support that Sharon is receiving from the White House and demand that no citizen funded tax dollars be spent entertaining the thug Sharon at the White House or be sent to him to support his apartheid policies in Occupied Palestine.

*Tell the President that the biggest obstacle to peace in the region is the continued theft of Palestinian land, the escalation of violence, torture, and collective punishment by the Occupation Forces under the direct orders of Sharon against the Palestinian civilian population.
