Take Action Against Whole Food's Union Busting!

SUPPORT THE NEW LABOR MOVEMENT, TAKE ACTION AGAINST WHOLE FOODS' UNION BUSTING
(In case you think whole foods is a friendly, eco-centric company . . . I worked at one, it's capitalism with a smiley face. Give 'em a call, demand re-instatement.)

ATTENTION USAS STUDENT LABOR WARRIORS:

SUPPORT THE NEW LABOR MOVEMENT, TAKE ACTION AGAINST WHOLE FOODS' UNION BUSTING

CALL OR (preferably) FAX WHOLE FOODS TO DEMAND UNION ORGANIZERS' JOBS BACK

(773) 755-1500 PHONE
(773) 755-2452 FAX
Please contact the Whole Foods Midwest Regional Office (a sample text is below) and DEMAND that Debbie Rasmussen and Julie Thayer be GIVEN THEIR JOBS BACK and that Whole Foods SIGN A FAIR CONTRACT WITH ITS WORKERS.

One in ten workers who try to organize a union are illegally fired. Two of these workers are Debbie Rasmussen and Julie Thayer. These two outspoken women helped to organize a union at Madison, Wisconsin's Whole Foods Market. This is the first store in the history of the Whole Foods chain to be
unionized.

On Tuesday November 19, Debbie and Julie broke a minor rule that usually warrants a small verbal warning, if any punishment in our store. But Debbie and Julie are strong supporters of their union and they were fired because of this. Debbie and Julie's firing was a concerted strategy by Whole Foods management to get rid of union supporters in order to keep from having to bargain a fair contract with our union, UFCW Local 1444.

Whole Foods workers have declared Monday December 2nd a National Day of action Against Whole Foods' Union-Busting. PLEASE CALL OR FAX WHENEVER YOU
CAN!

People like Debbie and Julie, like USAS, are the future of the labor
movement. They can't get their jobs back, and their co-workers can't get their first contract without your support. CALL WHOLE FOODS AND DEMAND DEBBIE AND JULIE'S JOBS BACK!!!!

SAMPLE TEXT

Dear Whole Foods Midwest Regional Management,

On November 20, Julie Thayer and Debbie Rasmussen were fired from the Madison, WI Whole Foods. I am writing you to demand that Julie Thayer and Debbie Rasmussen be given their jobs back immediately. Their firing was unjust and excessive, and they were targeted because of the fact that they support their union. In addition, I demand that Whole Foods sign a contract with the union that represents workers at Whole Foods Madison, UFCW Local
1444.

I will tell my friends, family, neighbors and community about the violation of human rights that Whole Foods Market is perpetrating on the employees of its' Madison store if this behavior is not stopped immediately. I urge you take immediate action to reinstate Debbie Rasmussen and Julie Thayer and to also do whatever is necessary to bargain a fair contract with the UFCW in a timely manner.

Sincerely,
(your name)
