Palestinian "Liberators" now murdering children

The kibbutz victims were identified as Revital Ohayoun, 34; her sons Matan, 5, and Noam, 4; along with Dor Yitzhak, 44, who served as the secretary of the kibbutz; and Tirza Damari, 42, of Elichin.
JERUSALEM (CNN) -- A Palestinian gunman attacked a kibbutz in northern Israel late Sunday, killing five people, including a mother and her two small sons, Israeli authorities reported. Three others were wounded.

In a separate incident Monday, two Israel Apache helicopters fired at least four missiles, apparently targeting a workshop near Palestine Square in central Gaza City, Palestinian sources said.

The kibbutz victims were identified as Revital Ohayoun, 34; her sons Matan, 5, and Noam, 4; along with Dor Yitzhak, 44, who served as the secretary of the kibbutz; and Tirza Damari, 42, of Elichin.

Police and army officials rushed to the scene but did not find the gunman, the reports said.

The newspaper Ha'aretz reported the Al Aqsa Martyrs Brigades, a militant offshoot of Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat's Fatah movement, claimed responsibility for the attack.

The Palestinian Authority promised an investigation.

"We condemn the attack that claimed the life of five Israeli civilians. President Arafat has ordered an investigation into the matter," said Chief Palestinian Negotiator Saeb Erakat.

Kibbutz Metzer, where the attack occurred, is a collective village located near the pre-1967 border with the West Bank.

Israel Radio reported that Israeli Defense Minister Shaul Mofaz had called security chiefs together to plan a military response to the incident.

The kibbutz is near the site of an explosion earlier Sunday. In that incident, Israeli police ordered a car to pull over, and when it did, the car exploded.

Police said the two people in the car "were evidently two Palestinian suicide bombers." The blast killed only the two suspected terrorists.
