Peter Schumann's Bread and Puppet Theater is world famous ... but hardly mentioned in the U.S. media, owing, in part, to a radical and uncompromising political vision which make the group unique. Brecht's study is detailed and thorough and a great piece of both criticism and reportage. Widely under-reviewed, the two volume set will in time be seen as a classic study of a great theater artist whose shameful neglect in the U. S. is a direct result of his uncompromising artistry and politics.

Warren Leming is a writer/critic/playwright whose work has been seen in the U.S. and Europe. He currently divides his time between Berlin and Chicago. His most recent play: "Cold Chicago, a Haymarket Fable" was published last year by Kerr Publishing. He is working on a book of poetry, scheduled to be published in Europe next fall.
