Ann Arbor, MI: O-26 Peace March in Ann Arbor - No War on Iraq

Ann Arbor, Michigan: Begins at 10 am at Sculpture Plaza with drumming. Location: 4th Ave. & Catherine, downtown Ann Arbor, in front of People's Food Co-op
After having received many phone calls and emails over the
last week from individuals who want a local march and
cannot travel to DC on 10/26, the steering committee of the
Ann Arbor Area Committee for Peace held an emergency
meeting last night. We decided to call for a peace march in
Ann Arbor, details as follows:

Begins at 10 am at Sculpture Plaza with drumming. Location: 4th Ave. & Catherine, downtown Ann Arbor, in front of People's Food Co-op

10:30 - 11 am: March through downtown to U-M Diag.
11 am: Closing rally on U-M Diag.

This event will be nonviolent and family-friendly, and will
feature positive messages of creating a peaceful world.

The reason we settled on those times and places is that
there is a home U-M football game that day at 12:05 pm. Our
action will take place before the game in order to be
visible to football crowds and to allow students to both
attend our march and the game. Parking will be tight, so
please take buses, carpool, bike, or plan to arrive in
plenty of time to find a spot. Bring a sign and a drum or
other percussion instrument if you have one.

PLEASE SPREAD THE WORD OF THIS ACTION TO EVERYONE YOU KNOW.
WE DON'T HAVE MUCH TIME TO ORGANIZE!

We're seeking ENDORSEMENTS from area organizations. If
your group would like to endorse this action and have its
name on publicity, please contact Suzanne Camino at
scamino (at) umich.edu. The deadline for endorsements -- in
order to get group names on publicity -- is the evening of
Wednesday October 16th.

***If you have COMMENTS, CONCERNS, QUESTIONS, please send
them to info (at) justpeaceinfo.org

It's time to add Ann Arbor to the growing list of cities
staging peace marches. Let's make our large and wonderful!!
