Chicago Solidarity Events with the EZLN March to Mexico City

While it has not received much press coverage in the US, the Zapatista March to Mexico City, is a major event in the struggle for justice in Mexico. Check out the following three related Chicago solidarity events.
On Sunday, March 11, 24 leaders of the 1994 Zapatista uprising in Chiapas, along with thousands of Mexican and international supporters, will arrive in the central plaza in Mexico City to hold a rally pressing their demands for justice for the indigenous and campesinos of Mexico. You may not be able to join them there, but you are invited to stand in solidarity with them by attending the rally in Pilsen

Next, here are two additional opportunities to learn first-hand about the human rights struggles in Mexico. The speaker, Dr. Bertoldo Martinez Cruz, is a long time activist - and has been jailed for his acctivities. He continues to speak boldly - from jail and in city squares - of his concerns. This will be a wonderful chance to about what's happening from a man who has studied the situation - and lived it.
