Emergency Action Day After the Vote

IF CONGRESS VOTES "YES" to Bush's war resolution, Chicagoans are invited to a vigil and "Tribunal" at the Federal Plaza (Dearborn & Adams) at 12 NOON THE DAY AFTER THE VOTE.
Thanks to all of you who have been writing and calling your elected representatives, attending demonstrations, and otherwise talking up the case against war on Iraq.

Until Congress votes on the war resolution (scheduled for Thursday morning), it is crucial that we continue to call our Senators and Representatives.

Senator Robert Byrd of West Virginia is taking the lead in stalling a Senate vote on grounds that the American people would like more time to consider other alternatives to war. Please call your Senators and Representatives to support his claim and to ask them NOT to vote tomorrow--that we'd like to hear more discussion about nonmilitary alternatives.

You may reach any member of the House or Senate by calling the Congressional Switchboard at 202-224-3121.

We will declare the Federal Building a scene of international crime and hold a trial for Administration officials and Members of Congress who have sanctioned the violations of international law and human rights. The announcement is below. PLEASE join us for this important action.
