Rev. Dan Dale, director of United Campus Ministries at
UIC's Agape House, recently returned from the
Philippines where he participated in the International
Solidarity Mission Against US Armed Intervention in
the Philippines, a fact-finding mission.

The 68-member delegation disclosed human rights
violations and a US soldier's involvement in a local
police action that wounded a civilian. The mission
was top news for 4 days and put the government of the
Philippines on the defensive.

The Pentagon plans to send 3,000-6,000 troops to the
Philippines in October for the third set of
joint-training exercises this year. These exercises
will last at least 9-months, and have been officially
declared as counter-insurgency trainings. President
Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo has now identified
"communists, unionists, and drug addicts" as the next
targets in the war on terrorism in the Philippines.

Hear Dan's account of his experience and the mission's
findings. Program includes cultural performances,
multi-media, and refreshments.
